These are the ways you can successful retain your current phone number.
Having a good standing account with your current provider ( this will allow you to switch over whenever you choose with no issues.
Switching your number over before 60 days of no service from you current provider
Provide the correct account information from your previous provider to the Customer Service rep.
Double check to make sure all account information is correct.
These things usually cause a delay and can set you back days on obtaining service.
Porting numbers that have no assignment for over 60 days.
the account is older than 60 days.
the account has a balance and is in bad standing.
Wrong account information. This can cause days of no service until everything is clear.
TIP:
If you have had any difficulty with you last account and it is not monetarily worth it.
It’s probably easier to get a new number.
